City Dwellers | A Move or Two

Well hello there, friends! It’s been a few days! We’ve been busy over here. I can finally announce my dreams of living downtown have come true. We are officially city dwellers. As you can see, we’re not completely moved in, my shiny new bicycle sits in the living room for all to see. I have yet to get a bike lock. But we’ve come pretty far moving everything in. There are still a few things at our little garden level that have to be brought over, but we’ve been staying in our new place since Sunday! I’ve been a little preoccupied with getting settled that I’ve slacked on posting. Well that and the fact that I’m writing from my phone to tell you we’re still alive because we won’t have Internet until Friday. I couldn’t wait until then to share a little sneak peek into my favorite spot in the house. As soon as the Internet is up and running I want to give you a little tour of the rest of the place. I’ll even share a few things I want to add to the loft for fun! If you can’t tell, I’m beyond excited with our new home and I can’t wait to share it with you! So be on the lookout for my mini series, City Dwellers. I hope y’all had a fantastic weekend!

Happy Wednesday, Friends!

Introduction to The Hunted Interior

By now you know I love to share new and exciting things I find. So today is no exception. I’d like to introduce you to The Hunted Interior Blog written by Kristin Jackson. Her blog is focused on Interior Design and “hunting” in your home for ways to redo and reuse things you already have. What a genius idea! My friend has been telling me about her for months now and for some reason, today was the day I finally looked her up. I’ve been changed. I have found all of the inspiration for my new loft in the city (where we’ll be moving THIS WEEKEND) and my future home with little ones. Her style is beautiful, timeless, elegant, sophisticated and every bit of what I would like my home to be. So, without further adieu, a taste of HER home.

Choosing Joy

Choose Joy | Aubrey Hubbell Design | Chic to Chic Blog |

Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.  -Helen Keller

Sometimes things don’t go as planned. Sometimes we have surprises, good and well, not so good. Whether in heartache or disappointment, we have a choice. We have a choice to choose joy. Through it all, no matter what comes our way we can make that choice. No, not a “fake” happiness, but joy. Joy is something that comes from the soul, because the heart and mind may not be feeling it. In every situation we face, choosing to be joyful is not always easy, but it gives a feeling of hope. Knowing there is always something to be thankful for because you’re alive and breathing this morning, it makes it a bit easier to find that joy. So, in every situation you face, choose joy. It’s good for the soul.

Happy Wednesday, Friends.

Goal Quote | Aubrey Hubbell Design | Love Yourself Link Up | Chic to Chic Blog |

Running is not a passion of mine, but it is a goal. Running one mile, two miles and maybe one day I’ll do a race. Running is a goal that takes work. It takes a lot of mental encouragement and encouraging yourself isn’t always easy. Every block I pass, I try to be proud of myself. Because that’s one more block more than I ran yesterday. Setting goals is the fun part. Figuring out how to get there, that’s the important part.

Those steps whether small or large are the most crucial part of your goal. If it weren’t for those steps, you wouldn’t continue to come closer to the goal. So, with any goal you have, don’t get discouraged because it’s taking longer to achieve. Just know every second you work on that goal, your one second closer to reaching it – no matter how many seconds it takes.

Today I ran, yesterday I ran. My first goal is to run the mile without stopping. I’m focusing on that and when I reach that first goal, I’ll set my next one. I will encourage and be proud of myself every step of the way because that’s what it takes. Love yourself. Be proud of yourself. You will reach your goals.

Put a bow on it!

Today I want to share with you some of my favorite hair accessories from some of my favorite stores. I’m always awed by the beautiful, detailed and elegant hair pieces found around the web. Whether headbands or hair pins, you can’t go wrong with one in your hair. Dress them up or dress them down, you’ll feel that extra touch of lovely in your t-shirt or in your little black dress.

There’s my friend’s “do” I did for our Eat. Drink. Create. event. Her hair was out of her face and she was free to enjoy the park. She chose a little bling from Anthropologie to put on the side (it’s in the shadows somewhere).

I hope you enjoyed this little round up of darling hair accessories. They’re easy and add the perfect touch to any updo or downdo, braid or twist.

Happy Monday, Friends!

Day at a Time

Eat. Drink. Create.

About a month ago I was invited to attend an event called Eat. Drink. Create. for local creatives here in Denver. Since I am new to the design, blog and creative world, I jump at the chance to meet creatives.

You see, creatives see the world differently. For example, we don’t just read a poster on a bulletin. We analyze it. We name the fonts in our head that are used. We question their use of the grid, their color choice and then maybe we actually love it or don’t. We creatives can’t just look at normal things and pass them by. Everything we see is art and must be cherished and thought of as such.

So, back to the event. It’s actually tomorrow night and I’m lying awake thinking about it – who I’ll meet, what I’ll learn, how inspired I’ll be afterward. This will be one of my first meet ups with bloggers and creatives and if you can’t tell or if I haven’t mentioned it enough, I can hardly contain my excitement. Any chance to meet new friends, but especially creative friends is a wonderful opportunity.

When I get back, I’ll let you know how it went!

Have a Happy Thursday, Friends!

Inpsiration, My Designs

A Design Collection

Today I wanted to introduce you to my newest project, my new portfolio website – ADESIGNCOLLECTION. I’m a full-time Digital Design student and I also do freelance for several small businesses. I coded my first website earlier this year and it was NOT pretty. So, I thought it was about time I try again. This is what happened. I’m actually quite proud of it. I still have a few things to work on, but overall, I’m happy with it.

Take a look and tell me what you think! And if you need any help with your website, a new logo or have any other design needs, I always love meeting new people and their design challenges. You can email me in that nifty little contact form on the CONTACT page. I’d love to hear from you! Thanks for checking it out!

Happy Wednesday, Friends!
