Today I am writing as part of the Love Yourself Linkup – an ongoing blog series that focuses on topics like self image and body image. A community of women post their thoughts on these topics and tell stories of personal experiences. We’ll share what inspired us, challenged us and more! Sometimes life takes over and leaves you without a minute to spare, but like everything, we evolve and learn to work with the seconds we are left with during the day. We get better at taking advantage of the quiet moments of the early morning to do a little clean up or stay up a little later to read a page of your newest read. Lately, I’ve been going to bed later and waking up earlier. I’m slowly transitioning into the morning person that existed before the snooze button was discovered sometime in my middle school years. It feels good to be able to figure out how to use these 24 hours in a less stressful way. I may have a million things to do and some may get done late, but I bring myself to awareness and realize, it’s not going to completely change my life for the worse if it’s a few minutes late or I have to finish it in the morning. When there are so many things going on, it’s easy to get caught up in them, feel stressed and feel as if nothing is getting done, but perspective is a wonderful thing and planning is even better. I wake up in the morning, write a list of things I have to do and then separate those things into parts of the day. Sitting here in this moment, I make myself focus and get at least one thing from my list done. Once it’s done, I take a break, grab a cup of tea, put a pretty dress on and sit right back down to work on another project. It works! I feel less stressed, more productive and Miss Visual over here sees items disappear from the to do lists before my very eyes. Do you ever feel completely overwhelmed by life and all of the projects going on? How do you cope? Do you like lists? How do handle it? I’m trying over here and feeling better and better everyday, but I always love to hear more ideas on coping with a busy schedule!
I hope today encourages you in showing that you are not alone with your overwhelming schedule and ever expanding to do lists. It’s a struggle, but just remember, it doesn’t get easier, you just get better. We all have to learn to manage our time and do our very best at everything we can!
Happy Tuesday, Friends!
