A Tasty Snack & A Wall Collage

Apple Snack | Chic to Chic Blog |

I’m enjoying a tasty snack post-workout and doing a little Pinterest “ing” this Monday morning.

1 Apple

1 Tablespoon Natural Peanut Butter (softened)

1 Teaspoon Natural Honey

1 Dash of Cinnamon

Cut up the apple and drizzle the honey and peanut butter over the sliced apples. Add dash a bit of cinnamon on the top and Enjoy!

My Pinterest “ing” consists of adding more to my House Change board. I’m brainstorming on a few things for the new place. One thing I’m really considering is a collage wall. Either in the hallway or beside my desk, I’d love to gather a collection of white or black frames showcasing my favorite prints, quotes and maybe some of my own artwork. This is what Pinterest is inspiring me with!

What do you like better, black or white frames, same size frames or different shapes and sizes, and what would you put in a frame collage if it were your wall? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Monday, Friends!

P.S. Be on the lookout tomorrow for the LoveYourself Link Up Post! We’re talking about LESS.

Pretty Face, It’s A Beautiful Day

Beautiful Day Michael Buble | A. Design | Chic to Chic Blog Pretty Face Michael Buble | A. Design | Chic to Chic Blog

Okay, seriously! Have you checked out the newest Michael Bublé album? It’s fabulous! Of course being a fan since, I don’t know.. middle school, there was a great chance I’d fall in love with this one too. It’s A Beautiful Day is perfect for this sun shiny afternoon. I’ve got the windows open streaming sunlight in the house and it’s NOT snowing! What! I didn’t know blogging on a NON-snow day was even possible. I’m not complaining. I took a nice walk to Whole Foods and stocked up on dinner items for tonight! That’s another thing making this day so much better. Matt is finally done with busy season. So… it’s back to a normal dinner schedule, TOGETHER no less! What a thought! Tonight on the menu is Spinach & Feta Stuffed Chicken, fresh Papaya and a delish Greek Garbanzo salad. Mmm… now to start cookin’ it!

Happy Wednesday, Friends!

Yo – breathe in – Ga – breathe out

“Blessed are those who are flexible. For they won’t get bent outta shape.” -Maize Hutton

It’s Yoga time. At 10am this morning, I’ll be “yoga-ing” at the gym.

Anyone into Yoga? Especially in the middle of the week? Especially when you feel like your body and mind are ready to collapse at at any moment. Well maybe I’m exaggerating just a little bit, but if you were learning what I’ve been learning the past couple of days – your mind might be ready to explode too. And you’d bring crying out for a Down Dog and Plank.

Coding – I’m learning website coding. It’s like learning a new language. And I have never been very successful at that either. I’m determined, though. I’m determined to learn this crazy computer language that really doesn’t make that much sense. I haven’t thrown the computer screen yet, I’m pretty sure that’s a success in itself. I meaning seriously – try to decode this:

.red { height: 100px; width: 100px; background-color: red; margin: 0 auto; }

<html> <head> <meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”text/html; charset=ut-8″/> <link rel=”stylesheet” href=”one.css” media=”screen” title=”no title” charset=”utf-8″> <title>untitled</title> </head > <body> <div class=”red></div> </body></html>

All of that to make a little red square pop up in Safari. On the other hand, maybe you shouldn’t try to decode it. I don’t know if I could bare it being wrong after all of that!

I need Yoga. I need it to clear my mind of all of those jumbled up word things and stretch my achy muscles.

So, when we meet again post-Yoga, I’ll be happy has a I am in a Child’s Play pose and ready for anything (anything may or may not include anything involving coding).

Namaste and Happy Wednesday, Friends.

There’s this thing…

It’s called Pinterest. Heard of it? Most of us have. Well, I’m just a little obsessed. It’s a magical place to organize thoughts, wish lists, party plans and future dreams. It’s amazing. So, since I’ve failed at blogging during the break, but can’t stop pinning everything on my mind… Check my Board out here.

If you like what you see, repin and tell me in a comment.

I hope everyone has had a Happy Hanukah, Merry Christmas and a wonderful end to 2012.

We’re kicking back here in Vail and enjoying the chilly weather.

Happy Sunday, Friends.

Today I was Humbled…

…by Turbo Kick. Yeah, that’s right. This girl here took a kicking and punching class for the first time…and I was BY MYSELF.

I was instantly humbled in the class. I watched as everyone jumped and clapped and punched and kicked and jumped and kicked and punched and clapped. I tried. Oh yes, I tried. I failed.

I was completely embarrassed, but I stuck with it… For a WHOLE hour. It was quite funny actually. I might try it again. Crazy, right?! Humiliating myself on purpose! I think if I can just get some of the moves down, I could actually catch on. Maybe even, someday I could be good at “Turbo Kicking!”

Wish me luck next week!

Tonight, I write. I run.

Tonight, I’m sitting here on the couch thinking about the day. Matt’s laying on the bed relaxing before it’s time for sleep. I just went on a run and am ready for a nice long shower before bed. But about today. It was a good one, not too out of the ordinary. Our dinner was really quirky. I didn’t really plan ahead. The day went so fast I ended drinking my breakfast shake all day. So lunch was pretty much non-existent. Unless, you count the delicious peach I munched on around 2pm.

So, today I worked. I came home. I ate a leftover Thai basil wrap (it was fantastic) and then went running through Cherry Creek. I ran the ENTIRE time. THAT is new. You see, my husband LOVES running. He just finished up his “run one mile everyday no matter what” goal. He’s good at running. Me, not so much. I like it when I can do it, when I can run a WHOLE mile without stopping. That makes me happy. But that hasn’t happened in a while.

Tonight I just felt like running. Instead of doing my Monday night yoga, I ran. I ran and ran and ran. I ran 1.3 miles without stopping. That’s huge for me. I know, I know all you fitness gurus are laughing at me, but I can do other things. Running is just not one of my favorites. So, tonight I celebrate the day. I celebrate my little BIG run.

Thank you for your applause. It’s appreciated.
