A Tasty Snack & A Wall Collage

Apple Snack | Chic to Chic Blog |

I’m enjoying a tasty snack post-workout and doing a little Pinterest “ing” this Monday morning.

1 Apple

1 Tablespoon Natural Peanut Butter (softened)

1 Teaspoon Natural Honey

1 Dash of Cinnamon

Cut up the apple and drizzle the honey and peanut butter over the sliced apples. Add dash a bit of cinnamon on the top and Enjoy!

My Pinterest “ing” consists of adding more to my House Change board. I’m brainstorming on a few things for the new place. One thing I’m really considering is a collage wall. Either in the hallway or beside my desk, I’d love to gather a collection of white or black frames showcasing my favorite prints, quotes and maybe some of my own artwork. This is what Pinterest is inspiring me with!

What do you like better, black or white frames, same size frames or different shapes and sizes, and what would you put in a frame collage if it were your wall? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Monday, Friends!

P.S. Be on the lookout tomorrow for the LoveYourself Link Up Post! We’re talking about LESS.

Day at a Time, Inpsiration, What to Wear

It’s that time of the year again.

It’s that time again where you really shouldn’t be hearing from me. I should be drowning in final projects (which I am) and not coming up for air. However, when you’ve worked for weeks on end on these very projects, even though they’re still not done, it’s REALLY hard to focus. I have until 6:30pm tonight to turn in one final project. I should really get going, but ….oh look my tea is ready, the sun is so shiny, mmm… love my protein shake. See there are just too many other things that are way more exciting! I know, I know I’ve become a procrastinator. A procrastinator, really! It’s just so easy when there is no brain power left and little things around me suddenly become the most exciting things I’ve ever seen. So, this is my final outlet. I have to get it all out and go…. So, my last words will be that of this weekend. Well not words, but pictures. You remember the post last week where I shared the weekend through Insta pictures? Well, I think I might just do that again. Check out this crazy weekend – in no particular order with a little narration.

Overstocked? Really?

I have just discovered I was searching for a rug for the living room and came across this beauty. It has been ordered. Then I decided using the dining room chair at my desk just wasn’t cutting it. So, I decided next on the list was a desk chair. Now I can’t decide. I have a front runner and then a lot of favorites. Check them out. Tell me what you think!

The White Designer-esqe Desk Chair | Chic to Chic Blog

Front Runner. It’s very Designer-esque. You know, the Scandinavian inspired style. Imagine it with my simple, black desk and white lamp (see below for MY desk).

Continuing with the white theme. This chair has everything you want in a desk chair. I like it too.

Gray Designer-esque | Chic to Chic Blog | OverstockBack to the Designer-esque, Scandinavian inspired look. Gray, good neutral. Oh and not from Overstock, actually from Ikea. I like it. Comfortable, simple. Not quite a statement piece, but it works.

And then there’s this. French, elegant, beautiful. I like it, a lot. It’s from Pier 1. I think it would really look amazing and I could cuddle up my whole body on it. I like that. But is it too formal?

What do you think? Here’s my desk. So you have a better idea.

Next project, the last to dos! Matt’s best friend, Tom is coming for a visit. He arrives tonight and will be staying until Sunday. So, I’ll just be getting last minute things done until I leave for class this morning.

Oh and don’t forget to visit this blog post to enter for the Darling Magazine Giveaway! It’s my thank you to all of my readers. One lucky winner will be chosen next week!

Happy Thursday, Friends!

Day at a Time

Oysters and Ice Cream

This weekend through the eyes of my Instagram Account @aubreyrachael. On Thursday we celebrated 100 followers on Instagram, ate Pho for dinner with the Hubs between classes and broke in new shoes, ouch! Friday was work day and ended with coming home to take care of my poor, sick Honey. Saturday, M rallied and we headed downtown to explore! We found this great ice cream place to celebrate dessert day. We enjoyed it while dreamily looking down the street at the beautiful Denver skyline. We headed down to the Marriott for a quick peek at my artwork in the gallery. The One Moment piece was inspired by the incredible Anna Rifle Bond and the other piece was for a Clothing Recycle campaign. The day ended with dinner at La Grande Oyster Bar. Today I continued nursing my poor husband back to health. We’re drinking Peppermint tea as I write and plan on a bedtime of 8:30pm! I think yesterday wore him out a bit! Overall, as seen on my Instagram Account, the weekend was one to remember. I’ll never tire of weekends with my Darling, that’s for sure! I am one lucky girl.

I hope the end of this weekend finds you well rested with many new memories as well!

Happy Sunday, Friends!

Hope is the thing with feathers.

Birdy | A. Design | Chic to Chic Blog“Hope” is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I’ve heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.
Emily Dickinson

This past weekend we explored downtown. We walked past this place called Poet’s Row. Neither of us knew how it got its name. And then we saw it. Every. Building. On. The. Block. They were named after Poets. Oh yeah, no big deal. I live in the Emily Dickinson building. So cool! I thought it was the neatest idea. So, in honor of Poet’s Row, I thought I’d share a poem by Emily herself.

I’m Dreaming.

It’s happening. It’s snowing again. And I’m dreaming of a day when there’s no more snow and sunlight streams through my windows. I’m also dreaming of A Change of House. If you’re a follower on MY PINTEREST PAGE you know what’s been on my mind lately. My A Change of House board has gotten lots of attention. I’m dreaming of light colors, sunlight and little details that make the place. Feminine. Flirty. Whites. Neutrals. Cozy. Darling. I think I’ll share with you.

This Boy is Back.

This Boy | Chic to Chic Blog | A. Design

Today is Tax Day. This, for an accountant, means from now on, Saturdays are the weekend again, 14 hour work days are in the past and life can be normal again. For me, the accountant’s wife, I’m looking forward to dinner together at a normal time, Saturday date days and not being completely exhausted on our only day together without work or school. Busy Season takes a toll, that’s for sure. But I am so proud of my amazing man for getting through it. It is not for the weak in spirit and he crushed it! He even started us on a new goal. A Matt Goal as I call them. Our new goal is one dessert, once a week. We like desserts. So, last night being the last day before our goal starts, we got frozen yogurt before midnight. One. Last. Dessert.

And today, I was craving a sweet snack. So, I made up a healthy one. It was a-mazing! Try this – Half a frozen Papaya smoothie box from Whole Foods or any frozen fruit. A half cup of plain Greek yogurt. Sprinkle a bit of Agave Nectar and Blend. Papaya Ice Cream – healthy and sooo delish!

Papaya Ice Cream | Chic to Chic BlogAnd as usual on my blog post days. It’s another snow day. Who would have thought. I’ll just be working, sitting in front of the heater eating my Papaya ice cream.

Happy Monday, Friends!
